About the Business advisor programme

The Business Growth Advisor Programme facilitates Enterprise Ireland to tailor its engagement according to a company’s stage of development and potential through the lens of the Client Engagement Model. The objective is to provide an efficient and consistent delivery of supports based on established client needs. Business Growth Advisors from HYLMAN assist the Exporter Development team to carry out specific project work based on the client’s business needs to create a clear roadmap for international growth with concrete actions and deliverables.

Approach

To assesses the opportunities and gaps of a business across six key business pillars. Business Growth Advisor assignments will support a company to address these gaps, to support the companies’ ambitions to grow their businesses in international markets.

Scope

Enterprise Ireland’s engagement with clients is through a “Client Engagement Model” (CEM), which is Enterprise Ireland’s way of working with Irish companies to help them achieve significant international scale. It seeks to identify companies with latent or unrealised export growth potential, with whom we can engage in a structured way. It helps Enterprise Ireland tailor its engagement according to a company’s stage of development and provides a more efficient and consistent delivery of supports through a structured engagement model, based on agreed client needs.

The CEM begins with a joint diagnostic between the client company and the internal Enterprise Ireland Development Advisers (“DA’s”) to identify potential barriers to growth. The DA and the company agree the business issues/priority pillars for further actioning. At this stage a Business Growth Advisor from HYLMAN, with specific expertise across one of the six business pillars, may be appointed to assist the company on one or more of these actions.
